Jubilee 2025: Pilgrims of Hope

February 2, 2025 – January 6, 2026

Become A Pilgrim With Us

In the Catholic tradition, a Jubilee Year is a sacred time of renewal, grace, and pilgrimage—a gift offered by the Church every 25 years, and at special moments in history. It invites the faithful to step away from the ordinary and journey toward healing, reconciliation, and deeper communion with God. This holy year includes opportunities for indulgences granted by the Pope, prayerful pilgrimage, and acts of mercy that open the heart to transformation.

For us at Heritage, being named a pilgrimage site for the Jubilee is both a profound honor and a joyful calling. During this pilgrimage season, the visitation window will remain open from February 2, 2025 through January 6, 2026, welcoming individuals and groups into this extraordinary season of mercy. We are deeply honored to be part of this beautiful moment in the life of the Church and invite all who seek rest, meaning, and sacred encounters here at Heritage.

Opportunities for pilgrims

Plenary Indulgences, Explained

A plenary indulgence is a beautiful gift of God’s mercy—a full remission of the temporal punishment due to sin that has already been forgiven. In the Jubilee Year, the Church opens wide the doors of grace, inviting us to draw near to the heart of God through acts of prayer, pilgrimage, and reconciliation.

How to receive

To receive a plenary indulgence, pilgrims are asked to:

  • Make a sacramental confession preferably within about 20 days before or after the pilgrimage
  • Receive Holy Communion in a state of grace
  • Pray for the intentions of the Holy Father such as an Our Father, Hail Mary, or prayer of your choice
  • Be free from all attachment to sin even venial sin
  • Pass through the “Pilgrim Door” of a designated Jubilee pilgrimage site, such as the Church of the Purification
  • Offer prayers or devout acts during the visit—this could include attending Mass, praying the Rosary, spending time in quiet Adoration, or reflecting in silence

We encourage pilgrims to prepare spiritually before their journey. We hope to welcome you through our pilgrimage doors soon.

Important Notes

Sacrament of Reconciliation

Confession will not be available during visiting hours, as we seek to preserve a peaceful and prayerful space for all who journey here. We warmly encourage pilgrims to receive the Sacrament before their visit—ideally in the days just prior—so that their hearts may arrive open, unburdened, and ready to receive the quiet graces of the pilgrimage. Preparing in this way invites a deeper encounter with God, allowing each visitor to fully enter into the mystery, beauty, and spiritual refuge that Heritage offers.
