Corpus Christi Weekend
Join Archbishop Hartmayer and the Heritage team at the birthplace of Catholicism in the state of Georgia as we celebrate the precious gift of the Eucharist over Corpus Christi weekend.
Saturday’s activities include Mass at the historic Church of the Purification followed by a 2 mile Eucharistic procession from the church to Locust Grove Cemetery, the oldest Catholic cemetery in Georgia, circa 1790. Following the benediction in Locust Grove Cemetery, lunch and free-time at the Retreat will allow time for both fellowship and quiet contemplation around the Heritage grounds. Overnight guests have the opportunity to conclude their weekend with another Mass at the Church of the Purification on Corpus Christi Sunday.
Resources on the Eucharist and Corpus Christi will be available for our guests in the Heritage Shop as well as the Pine Lodge Library. We look forward to welcoming you to the cradle of Catholicism in Georgia!
