Job Description
The Hospitality Operations Manager supports the Director of Hospitality by overseeing daily hospitality operations at Heritage. This role ensures that all operational, logistical, and service-related components of the guest experience are carried out smoothly, consistently, and in alignment with Heritage’s standards and mission. The Hospitality Operations Manager supervises hospitality staff during retreats and events. This position typically requires working weekdays, with some early mornings, evenings, and weekend work, depending on retreat and event schedules.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Execute daily hospitality operations in alignment with procedures and service standards established by the Director of Hospitality
- Oversee on-site guest flow during arrivals, departures, retreats, and events to ensure a seamless and welcoming experience
- Serve as the primary on-site operational point of contact during retreats and events when the Director of Hospitality is unavailable
- Ensure guest spaces, accommodations, and common areas are prepared according to schedules and expectations
- Supervise Ministry & Service Ambassadors, volunteers, and hospitality staff during assigned shifts
- Ensure staff are properly briefed, scheduled, and supported during retreats and events
- Assist with onboarding, training, and mentoring of hospitality team members in accordance with established procedures
- Communicate staffing needs, challenges, and performance feedback to the Director of Hospitality
- Communicate real-time updates and adjustments during retreats and events
- Ensure supplies, materials, and guest amenities are stocked and prepared
- Support post-retreat guest follow-up and service recovery as directed
- Help collect and relay guest feedback and operational insights to leadership
- Utilize reservation and scheduling software to support daily operations and reporting
Qualifications
Required:
- Commitment to Heritage’s vision, values, and mission
- Understanding of and respect for the Catholic faith and retreat environment
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, retreat-based environment
Preferred:
- Experience in hospitality, retreat centers, event operations, or guest services
- Supervisory or team leadership experience
- Familiarity with scheduling, reservation, or hospitality management systems
Work Environment
- On-site presence required to include weekends, early mornings, and evenings
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the property for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry items up to a reasonable weight as required for hospitality operations
